would NiMH battery cells work in a drill that came with NiCD batteries?

i am gonna replace the cells in 2 18 volt batteries and would like to know if it works and a website i can get them cheap and i ain't buying the whole battery it cost around $80 each

Lawn Tractor with B&S 18.5hp keeps killing the Battery?

I have a lawn tractor with above mentioned engine, it killed the last battery, meaning it was running then it just died and wouldn't again. I put a new battery on it and ran for a couple hours then all of a sudden, it just quit again and wont start. Battery is down to about 10.6 volts, same place it was when it died last time. Turns over, just wont hit. Is this the alternator needing to be replaced, and if so, should I be able to do that. I'm no mechanic, but have work on things in the past, just not an engine like this. I looked up the part and it is only $27, which is a lot cheaper than renting a trailer to haul to a shop and paying them to fix it. Thanks

how to convert amps into ah?

ok, i got a 4 watt fm transmitter, it draws between 12-18 volts @ 0.5 amps, i need it portable to go to major events in my city for brodcast purposes, so in other words, i need a battery, something deep cycle, but not too heavy like a car battery

im thinking about a power wheels battery,

there cheap, and i can carry 2 or 3 charged with me in a backpack as backups, but will they work,

specs are 12 volt, (not shure if powerwheels are dc or ac, but i need dc)

so 12volts at 9.5 amps hour (ah), and i need between 12-18 voltsdc at 0.5 amps, will this battery work????????????
ok, so let me get something strait, amp hours (ah) is not a measure of amps, as in, if my transmiter takes 0.5 amps, the battery puts off 9.5 amps, it frys my transmitter, ah = the amount of amps the battery can put off in a hour????

so in other words, with the 0.5 amps the transmitter takes, with a 9.5 amp hour battery, thats 2 hour per amp hour (0.5 amp draw) so thats 18.5 hours per battery?????????

but what is the amp outpou on the battery, does it change for whatevers it is attached to, like, contiunesly, how many amps does it put out....

What is the best 18V lithium-ion cordless drill out now?

I originally purchased a Dewalt drill with Nicad batteries. However,after fooling around with the lighter lithium based cordless drill/drivers I've decided to go that route.

I'll be using this drill from everything from hanging blinds to decking. I'm not a contractor but more of a DIY weekend warrior. The one thing that I was concerned about was being able to drill into concrete. Seems like the drill/drivers that have the hammerdrill feature are on the heavy side and I was looking for something lighter. Am I better off just getting a seperate corded hammerdrill or Hilti drill for the very few times that I may need to drill into concrete?

So far I've had my eye on Makita's,Hitatchi,Ridgid to name a few. Can anyone offer some opinions?
Is anyone familiar with Ridgid? They came out with a new 18V lithium with a larger battery than the new compact Makita(black & white). Ridgid offers a lifetime warranty(even on the batteries). I'd like to hear from anyone who has used their tools. The 18V is around 4.5lbs.

Hammer Drill - Rent a good one or will a cheap Ryobi do the job?

I can rent a good Bosch for $44.50 for the day or buy a Ryobi
18 Volt 2 Speed Hammer Drill for $69.97 and keep it. I don't anticipate using the hammer drill beyond finishing the job at hand, but at least I can take my time with it. Will the Ryobi do a decent job of drilling holes in cinderblock?

okay so i downloaded firefox. i've been using firefox for a while, and all a sudden when i x'ed out my firefox and opened it again it wont go to websites, it wont even say page not displayed. it will just be blank. so i unstalled it and re stalled it and it worked when it was launched from the reinstal but when i x'ed it out again and opened it it showed blank. does anyone know how i can fix this????

Are dewalt drills as good as they they say? Esp' the cordless ones?

Thinking about buying a cordless hammer drill. I need one that will last and have good battery life. Dewalt seem very expensive, are they worth the money. The DC988 is advertised alot. Looking for at least a 14.4v or 18v model. Any experience or comments welcome.

Should I downgrade from my current drill/driver?

Two years ago, I bought a Makita 18V Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2 In. Driver-Drill Kit Model # BDF452HW for baby-proofing and furniture assembly. Now I don't use it much, although I feel that I would like a drill/driver on hand.

I feel that the 18V drill-driver is more than I need. I'd like to downgrade to the Makita LCT203W 10.8-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Two-Piece Combo Kit.

The 18V drill kit includes a quick charger, an extra battery pack and a hard plastic carrying case. I bought drill bits from Walmart separately. The 2-piece driver-drill set that I want includes: driver drill, impact driver, two 10.8-volt lithium ion batteries, charger, and "heavy duty" aluminum case.

Of course, the both tools in the 2-piece set have lower torque and max RPM than the 18V drill-driver, but I will have an impact driver in the exchange. Also the tools in the 2-piece set are smaller, which is more to my purpose (basic household maintenance).

Should I sell the 18V (bought at $200 + tax), at a loss because it's used, and get the 2-piece set? I'm thinking $160 for the 18V and I'll throw in the drill bits. The 2-piece set is $160 shipped, from Amazon. (I'll need new bits, as the drill takes hex-shank bits.) Or should I keep the 18V, because you never know when you'll need the power?

What do you think?
The tools in the 2-piece set are less bulky than the 18V drill-driver.

I foresee only light household drilling and screwdriving in the years to come.

“Kill me, just kill me now!” I shrieked, rummaging through my shirt drawer, “Where is my shirt?!” Well actually, it’s not really my shirt. It used to belong to my mother… I plopped down from my kneeling position and pouted at the sight of my scattered clothing that was lying in heaps around my room. I heard a creak coming from the other direction. My body twisted towards the noise to find four russet-colored paws shuffling through the doorway. “Ugh! Go away Zeus!” I moaned, as I picked a piece of clothing off the floor and chucked it at the cowering Cocker Spaniel.
“Quiet down Alaira! What’s going on in there,” my dad questioned.
“Nothing, Zeus is bothering me. Can you get him out of my room, he never leaves me alone.”
He whined as the pink strap of my mothers old shirt lassoed around his neck. I glared at him and screeched, “My shirt!” I scurried off of my knees and raced towards my long lost garment.

I untangled my shirt from Zeus’s shaggy fur and he nipped me. “Bugger off,” I said as I put on my washed-out jeans and the ivory shirt, which enhanced the tan color of my summer tinged skin. The stairs caved slightly under my feet as I sprinted to the door, for my house is very old. The brisk, fresh air splashed onto my face and weaved through my yellow locks as I stepped through the doorway. The morning dew tickled my feet as my toes curled over the doorframe and onto the grass. The south-bound wind didn’t slow me down as I ran north towards the stream by my house.

I gazed out towards the cabin as the vast grassland surrounded the boulder where I sat. I shifted to face the stream on which the boulder rested. My petite feet had green bits of grass on them. As I looked up at the azure sky, I immersed my slim body into the stream, turning my hair from a strawberry blond shade to auburn. The refreshing water crawled up my back, tickling the tips of my shoulders.

I swam a few laps around the lake, relaxing in the fresh, tranquil water.
After some time, I got up and lay on the grass, the water evaporating off my goose bumped skin by the sun rays. All my muscles loosened up and I felt at a complete state of serenity and harmony, but not like it used to be.

When I was a little girl, my mother used to tell me to look up at the clouds and pretend I was the sun, and I had the responsibility for brightening the sky. I would imagine my puffy yellow dress hoping up and down as I played hop-scotch on the clouds. If I missed a cloud, people would be freezing cold with no sun! My golden curls would bounce as my blissful face lightened the sky up, step by step. Is there a difference between DeWalt and any other brand. I have a craftsman 18V drill. It has worked nicely for what I've done. I don't know any difference with the DeWalt though
