- can a makita multi charger charge a ridgid 18v lithium battery?
can a makita multi charger charge a ridgid 18v lithium battery If i jumper the right terminals. Im pretty sure they use the same 18650 batteries in their packs but not sure if the electronic boards are similar.

- Do the new Ridged batteries fit in older power tools?
I have an older (maybey 5 years) Ridgid 18v. set. The drill motor busted. I have someone who could ship just drill. will older battery work? Looks like the same type of slide attaching bat. but need to make sure. Old drill R841150 half inch. G0408 90793. Thank you.

A Usually, if the battery is from the same manufacturer, voltage, and style, it will work. All three conditions have to be met, and it should work. A better question would be why are you fooling with this? Your batteries are about at the end of their lives (actually they're older than most when they fail to take a charge), so I wouldn't recommend buying another tool for them unless it came with batteries that I could use with the other tools in the set. If you don't have any other Ridgid tools that use the same battery, it's time for a new one, anyway. By the way, wasn't Ridgid offering a lifetime warranty on their tools five years ago? if you have the receipt and the owner's information it might be worth looking into. Home Depot was really promoting the brand at the time and they were making a lot of noise about the lifetime warranty that even covered batteries. All that being said, I'd look into reconditioned tools. I've bought dozens for myself and the shops I've run and never had a bad experience. All come with new batteries and the manufacturers warranty, and are a great way to get professional quality tools for about the cost of DIY models. You should be able to find a drill kit for about the cost of what you were going to pay for the naked drill. Check http://cpotools.com or http://reconditionedsales.com for what's available.
